Michael Salem is the Chief Information Security Officer and Group Head of Artificial Intelligence for IHS Towers. He also oversees the global IT operation. He is accountable for cybersecurity, responsible AI adoption, and technology operations across multiple regions. His remit covers cyber defense, business continuity, AI governance, enterprise applications, collaboration platforms, and service delivery.
He is recognized for scaling enterprise cyber resilience, accelerating incident response, and embedding practical security standards across regions. He also built a production-grade AI program that enhances accuracy, speed, and control across business functions and reports cyber posture and responsible AI progress directly to the board and executive committee.
Before his current role, Michael served as Group Information Technology Director for IHS Towers. He built a global IT organization from zero, unified previously siloed business units under one model, rolled out core platforms across regions, and kept service levels above target while the company scaled.
Earlier, he was the co-founder and president of Vorex, a B2B software company that grew into a recognized category player and was acquired by Kaseya, a multi-billion-dollar global software conglomerate.
Michael began his career at Bank of America, where his work supported critical systems serving over 30 million credit card customers and ensured operational continuity for large-scale consumer and business services.
Michael holds a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity Policy and Compliance from The George Washington University and completed executive programs in Artificial Intelligence at MIT, Cybersecurity and Risk at Harvard, and Leadership at INSEAD.
