Akinbola Akintola is an investment professional with over 13 years of experience spanning investment banking, pension fund administration, and capital market development across Africa and the UK. He currently serves as a Partner at HRISP Partners, where he advises fund managers on capital raising strategies, investor engagement, and fund structuring designed to attract long-term institutional capital. His work focuses on supporting fund managers through the full fundraising lifecycle—from positioning and investor targeting to achieving financial close.

Prior to this, Akinbola was the Head of Investor Relations and Research at the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp), where he led industry-wide investment research and market development initiatives. He played a pivotal role in shaping investment strategies for pension funds and led engagements with regulators and market participants to design frameworks that enhance pension fund participation in alternative assets and structured products.

Akinbola’s investment banking experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions and executing capital raising transactions across both public and private markets. He has been involved in notable transactions including fundraises for Lagos State, Geregu Power Plc, and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance, among others.

Earlier in his career, he held roles at Iworld Financial Services, where he led financial modelling, transaction execution, and investor engagement efforts, and at GTI Capital, where he developed market intelligence and trading strategies. He’s also worked with Nationwide Building Society (UK), advising clients on mortgage securities, credit risk, and financial planning.

Akinbola holds an MSc in Finance (Distinction) and a BA in Economics (Second Class Upper) from Coventry University. He has also completed executive training programmes from globally recognized institutions including the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Università Bocconi, and the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA), with a focus on infrastructure finance, private equity, and advanced financial modelling.
