Connectivity session

The panel explores strategies for building quality digital infrastructure, promoting community-driven initiatives, and fostering innovation to unlock economic growth, improve living standards, and enhance global competitiveness. By embracing digital transformation, they say, Africa can leapfrog developmental challenges and secure a brighter future. Panelists include Deremi Atanda (Remita Payment), Frank Eleanya (TechCabal), Wabo Majavu (Africa Data Centres), and Ifeanyi Akosionu (inq).

Talent session

The Talent session discussed the topic, “The Talent Gap: Developing Sustainable Digital Talent for Africa,” experts explore the challenges of addressing Africa’s digital talent gap. The speakers highlight the disconnect between academic education and industry needs, with outdated curricula and insufficient training being key barriers. The discussion emphasized the importance of closer collaboration between academia and industry, updating educational frameworks, and prioritizing continuous training to develop a skilled workforce for Africa’s digital future. Panelists include Hakeem Onasanya (Lagos Innovates), Olusola Teniola (ipNX Nigeria), Adewale Adeyemi (Tek Experts), Olawale Owoeye (Cedarview Communications), and Olusegun Maleghemi (Ouranos Technologies).

Funding session

In this panel session, “Funding Africa’s Digital Infrastructure: The Right Mix,” experts explore innovative financing strategies to support Africa’s digital transformation. Policy session

Following the Regulatory and Policy keynote presentation: “Building the Future: Proactive Regulation for Africa’s Digital Infrastructure” by Dr. Ayotunde Coker, the Chairman of the Africa Data Centres Association, this session discussed the regulatory frameworks needed to drive digital infrastructure development in Africa. Panelists discuss how to create investor-friendly, consistent regulations that attract investment and encourage infrastructure sharing and public-private partnerships (PPPs). The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration between regulatory bodies and industry players, as well as leveraging local partnerships to ensure sustainable development tailored to Africa’s needs.
