AI-Ready Africa: Building the Compute, Cloud, and Connectivity Foundations for the Next Digital Leap

Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM WAT
Venue: Virtual (Zoom)

Overview

Africa’s telecom and digital infrastructure industry stands at a pivotal moment. The rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how networks operate, how data is processed, and how value is created across economies. Yet, for AI to deliver its full potential, Africa must first strengthen the physical and digital foundations that sustain it.

AI promises smarter networks, predictive maintenance, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced customer experiences. But these capabilities depend on robust, future-ready infrastructure – advanced data centers, reliable power systems, and resilient, high-capacity connectivity that can handle the exponential data traffic AI and cloud adoption will bring.

From subsea cables and national backbones to metro networks and last-mile fiber, every layer of Africa’s connectivity ecosystem must now align with the compute and storage demands of the AI era.

The AI Infrastructure Readiness Session will convene Africa’s leading operators, cloud builders, and policymakers to explore a central question:
Are our data centers, networks, and power systems ready for AI?

Key Themes

  • Infrastructure for Intelligence – What does AI readiness mean for Africa’s telecom, cloud, and energy sectors?

  • Compute Power and Capacity – Do we have the data center density and connectivity to host large-scale AI workloads?

  • Energy Efficiency and Sustainability – How can Africa’s energy mix support the power-hungry demands of AI?

  • Regulation and Investment – What policies and partnerships are needed to enable responsible, scalable AI infrastructure?
  • Global Lessons, Local Context – What can Africa learn from global AI infrastructure pioneers?

Objectives

1

Convene Nigeria’s leading telecom operators, regulators, and technology providers for a strategic dialogue on AI infrastructure.

2

Explore how AI can drive network optimization, predictive maintenance, and energy efficiency in telecoms.

3

Highlight AI-ready data center and energy solutions that can accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation.

4

Position Africa Hyperscalers as the neutral platform fostering collaboration across the AI and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
