Kazeem Oladepo
Chief Operating Officer/Senior Vice President, IHS
Kazeem is the Chief Operating Officer for IHS Towers, responsible for operations and management of its Nigerian entities and subsidiary businesses. IHS Towers is a New York Stock Exchange-listed telecommunications infrastructure company, operating in 10 countries across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. The Company has its foundation roots in Nigeria, and it is the 4th largest independent multinational TowerCo business in the world. As COO, he has operational oversight for over 16,500 telecoms tower infrastructures, more than 16,000 km of fiber optic networks, and around 600 RAN as a service deployment across Nigeria.
IHS is Africa’s and Nigeria’s largest telecommunications infrastructure company.
He was at one time Vice President/CEO at IHS subsidiary, with oversight over the active network infrastructure and services subsidiary, focused on the deployment and operations of fiber optic networks (FTTX), Network as a Service (RAN solutions), IoT, Edge Data Centers and value-added services for telcos. During this time, he led the build and operations of Nigeria’s, perhaps Africa’s, most aggressive fiber optic network and RaaS deployment between 2021 and 2023, culminating in the deployment and operations of over 11,000km of fiber optic networks across Nigeria and connecting over 3 million previously unconnected remote community dwellers across Nigeria to mobile telephony.
Previously, he was Corporate and Business Executive/Chief for Africa’s premier independent submarine cable, connectivity and data center business (MainOne – now Equinix Nigeria) for its West Africa/Global Enterprise and Carrier business across over 11 countries in West Africa and Europe. He was also General Counsel, Human Resources Director and Director of Corporate Strategy, at different periods in his career, for a mobile telephony business, Starcomms Limited.
Kazeem has served and currently serves on several board of directors of several companies and is chairman of the board of two start-up technology companies.
He earned two degrees in Law and Information Technology (Zaria, Nigeria and Glasgow, UK) and an MBA (Fuqua – Duke University, Durham, USA).
