Amr Safwat is Manager for African Multilateral Affairs within the International Relations Central Department of Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. His work focuses on Egypt’s engagement with African governments, regional institutions and multilateral technology-policy processes.

Safwat contributes to discussions on digital cooperation, communications policy, regional integration and the development of Africa’s information and communications technology ecosystem. His responsibilities include supporting Egypt’s participation in continental platforms, coordinating engagement with African institutions and advancing cooperation around digital transformation and emerging technologies.

He has represented Egypt in African Union communications and ICT engagements involving governments, regulators, technical experts and international development partners. His experience provides a regional policy perspective on how African countries can align digital priorities, strengthen institutional cooperation and develop more connected and interoperable technology markets.
