Chief Executive Officer, Technology Service Providers Association of Kenya (TESPOK) / Operator of the Kenya Internet Exchange Point
Dr. Fiona Asonga is Chief Executive Officer of the Technology Service Providers Association of Kenya (TESPOK), the industry association that operates the Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP) and Kenya’s Industry Computer Security Incident Response Team. She has led TESPOK since 2009 and has more than two decades of experience across Kenya’s ICT sector, with a strong focus on internet infrastructure, industry development, policy and regulatory engagement.
Asonga has played an active role in regional and global internet governance. She has represented Kenya’s ICT private sector in AfCFTA Trade in Services negotiations and has worked through the East Africa Communications Organisation on communications policy and regulation. She previously served on the Number Resource Organization Number Council and the ICANN Address Supporting Organization Address Council, where she contributed to global internet-numbering policy and the IANA transition process.
Through TESPOK, Asonga has been a consistent advocate for stronger local interconnection, investment-friendly regulation and wider, safer internet access. Her experience managing critical internet infrastructure and representing private-sector operators gives her a practical perspective on the policy, peering, cybersecurity and investment conditions required to deepen Africa’s digital economy.
