Nonye Ujam is Director of Government Affairs for Microsoft West Africa, where she leads engagement with governments, regulators and multilateral institutions across the region. With more than 18 years of experience spanning technology, public policy and programme management, she works at the intersection of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and regulatory reform, building partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable digital development.

Before joining Microsoft, Ujam worked in both the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria to join the Central Bank of Nigeria. At the CBN, she led IT policy management and information security programmes and subsequently designed and implemented national development finance initiatives aimed at expanding financial inclusion. Her experience therefore combines technology policy, information security, financial-sector development and government relations.

Ujam holds a Master’s degree in Global Development Practice from Harvard University, where she received the 2024 Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Capstone and was recognised on the Dean’s List for Academic Achievement. She also holds an MSc in Computing, IT Law and Management from King’s College London and a BSc in Computer Science from Brunel University, alongside executive and professional qualifications from institutions including Oxford University, the London School of Economics, the University of Luxembourg and the European University Institute. She has also published research on social and development issues including child marriage, education access and gender inclusion.
