Vivek Mittal is Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Infrastructure Development Association, where he promotes stronger project-development capability, private investment and collaboration between African governments, developers, financiers and development institutions.

Mittal has nearly 30 years of international experience as a lender, investor and developer in energy and infrastructure. He has financed and supported projects across more than 25 countries and previously held senior project-finance roles at ING Bank, Enron Europe, Edison Capital Europe and the Bank of Scotland, where he served as Global Head of Energy and Utilities. He has also co-founded and led renewable-energy development companies in India, Central and Eastern Europe and the United States.

At AfIDA, Mittal has led the creation of the Catapult Accelerator and related training programmes supporting emerging African infrastructure developers. He holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management and an MSc in Instrumentation from BITS Pilani. UNCTAD World Investment Forum profile
