
Gerald Madondo
Country Director, Turner & Townsend
Gerald Madondo is the Country Director in charge of Turner & Townsend in Nigeria and West Africa. He is a professional member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). Gerald holds qualifications in Quantity Surveying and Project Management from the University of Pretoria and University of South Africa respectively. He has over 16 years’ experience working on projects across Africa and Latin America.
Gerald is a highly experienced Cost Manager and Cost Engineer with certification from the and American Association of Cost Engineers International (AACE). He has honed his cost prediction skills working on various complex large projects and always seeks to achieve a target of 5% accuracy on his estimates.
His project experience has been gained through working on projects for numerous multi-nationals, in different markets and sectors including hi-tech and manufacturing, natural resources, and real estate.
Between 2019 and 2022 Gerald was regional lead for Data Centers in South America and helped spearhead Turner & Townsends market penetration in Chile, Mexico and Brazil. During that time, he played in instrumental role in the construction on the first ever Google Data Centre in South America. Key achievements were the development of Amazon Web Services Data Centre program of 100 megawatts which spanned Brazil, Mexico and Canada worth over US$ 1 billion. In 2023, he returned to Africa to help spearhead Turner & Townsend market penetration into new markets outside West Africa.
He is passionate about technology and how it can be used to improve efficiency and increase performance on projects.
